The construction of the new port “Tanger Méditerranée”at
25 km. east of the city is planned to be started in 2008.
The actual port, which occupies 600 000 m² in the center
of Tangiers has to be renovated and has to become a
central part of the city with a huge park, many public
buildings and hotels, cruise port and yachting facilities.
