Byala Diamond Holiday Village

Byala, Bulgaria

Description
: holiday villas and swimming pool.
Surface: 7 500 m²
Client:
Conception: 2006

Given the site’s magnificent panoramic view and proximity to the sea, the project was designed to take advantage of this exquisite natural context as well as comply with the clients’ requirements and program.

The fan-like arrangement of the complex allows every apartment and every room to have a view of the sea in addition to receiving a maximal amount of sunlight.

The two rows of houses form a slightly curved inner space that constitutes the core of the holiday village with the swimming pool and other public facilities. This space is opened to the sea since the first row of houses opens to allow a panoramic view for the second row.

The project has 16 atrium row houses that can easily be transformed into units with two independent apartments of two levels each.

The first row of houses is accessible by car through a covered underground street. This principle which could have been applied to the second row of houses as well was instead replaced by direct car access for the following reasons:

  • This street facilitates access for fire vehicles.

  • It will not add noise pollution to the public spaces since it is located on the back side of the houses.

  • It will also greatly reduce construction costs. The Public Building is conceived to be a pleasant and welcoming leisure facility.
