The commercial center is located in the center of Blagoevgrad, the major town in southwest Bulgaria, known for its numerous universities and predominantly young population. The reconstruction of the department store offers an attractive zone for trade, cultural and recreational activities, contribute to the city’s overall urban development. The project can be defined as modern and dynamic, combining elements of European architecture with those of Bulgarian tradition. The latter is expressed by the stylized decorative elements in the metal exterior panels, namely the Bulgarian ornament "Elbetitsa". It is used throughout Bulgarian history as a symbol of universal harmony. These membranes eliminate direct lighting inside, contributing also to create an original and elegant image of the renovated shopping Mall in Blagoevgrad’s center. The building’s daily presence manifested through the glass facade is inviting for bystanders.
